We perform Okinawa’s eisa because we love Okinawa. Eisa is a traditional Okinawan custom that is practiced during Obon and includes playing folksongs on the shamisen, singing and dancing along to the beat of the taiko. Recent forms of eisa are arranged to the popular songs of Okinawa today. Our group practices both traditional and creative styles of eisa. We are always energized by the beat of the taiko. Dancing to the beat makes our troubles go away. Although we may lack in experience, we will perform with all our energy and show you a wonderful performance. Please enjoy.
