Our group Taikojuku MIYAKO believes that through Wadaiko, one of Japan’s traditional art form, we can develop our youth to lead fulfilling lives. Our goal is to ignite the world through education, culture and wholesome programs. We currently have 58 members ranging from first to ninth grades. They are divided into 6 groups based on their ages. Apart from regular practices, our students learn how to make drums, drum stands, costumes and other necessary equipment. In the winter, we make dried persimmons. We also organize events to pick up trash to keep our earth green.
