Matsuzaka Keiko of "Tenshumonogatari" and Leaders of "Daidengaku" Arrive in Honolulu

Intense Practice with the Local Participants

DaidengakuDaidengaku is one of the new highlights for this year's Honolulu Festival. The fact that local participants will be performing along with the group from Japan is of interest. The leaders of Daidengaku, Sugawara Sensei and Akasaka Sensei, arrived from Japan and quickly got together with the local dancers for an intense practice session. Actress Matsuzaka Keiko joined in the practice. Although it was their first practice together their feelings were unified. Their mission is to put on a wonderful performance. Sugawara Sensei was able to incorporate her ideas into the techniques and movements that the local dancers had already been practicing prior to her arrival. We are looking forward to their stage performance.

We will be celebrating the 15th Annual Honolulu Festival in just a few days. Many performers and spectators have started to arrive in Honolulu. Please come down to enjoy the many Festival events!
