Let’s talk story about Honolulu and some of the neat things happening here in Hawaii.

13th Annual Honolulu Festival (2007)

Performance Stages

During the Honolulu Festival, eye-catching performances were held at the Hawaii Convention Center, Waikiki Beach Walk and Ala Moana Shopping Center on March 10 and 11.

Hawaii Convention Center

Many spectators gathered at Hawaii Convention Center's Omatsuri Hiroba for the performances.
The performers danced dynamically and played traditional Japanese instruments on a large stage. The powerful sound moved a lot of people's hearts. Tahiti Nui International, Raiatea Helm, Suga-Ren, Descendance, Japan Nankin Tamasudare Association and other groups showed their best performances.

Waikiki Beach Walk

It was incredibly lucky for the Honolulu Festival that the heavy morning rain stopped when the performance began at the brand new Waikiki Beach Walk.
The Descendance from Australia aroused enthusiasm in the audience with their performance. They encouraged audience members and hula performers to come to the stage and participate.
The hula performers' colorful costumes were in harmony with the green palm trees and beautifully manicured lawn.

The warm sunshine brightened the stage and enhanced the performers at Ala Moana Center. Shoppers attracted by the music and songs gathered one after another.
Many hula dancers from Japan participated in this year’s festival and their carefully choreographed dances were enjoyed by the spectators. Audiences showed their warm Aloha with big applause. In addition, traditional Korean and Japanese dance and music performances filled the Ala Moana stage.
