Let’s talk story about Honolulu and some of the neat things happening here in Hawaii.

13th Annual Honolulu Festival (2007)

Grand Parade

While the sunshine brightened Waikiki on Sunday afternoon, many spectators gathered one after another along Kalakaua Avenue to see the featured Honolulu Festival Grand Parade.
This year's Grand Marshal was Honolulu's mayor Mufi Hannemann. Marching bands, performers from Japan and the Pacific region, and Mikoshi marched behind him. The final performance in the parade was by Saijo Iwaoka Danjiri from Ehime prefecture, Japan. This dynamic Mikoshi and its performers filled the air with excitement.

Cultural Exhibits and Craft Fair

Exhibiting were more than 100 local vendors, Japanese cultural groups and groups from Australia and the Republic of China (Taiwan). One of the visiting boys, Matthew Booths, tried Fukiya taught by an instructor from the Japan Sports Fukiya Association. He was able to hit the target, after he concentrated. He was excited and enjoyed playing a new cultural sport.
