The Honolulu Festival Foundation is recruiting groups to participate in the 16th Annual Honolulu Festival that will be held March 12-14, 2010. Please come and join in the fun. It’s an adventure that you don’t want to miss.

Last year’s 15th Annual Honolulu Festival brought over 5,200 performers and participants to Honolulu from all over the Pacific Rim including Japan, Alaska, Australia, Korea, the Philippines and Taiwan.

This is an opportunity for performers to showcase their arts and crafts in front of the people of Hawaii and our visitors from all over the world. Exhibitions and performances are held at the Hawaii Convention Center and Waikiki. And don’t forget the Grand Parade down Kalakaua Avenue.

Over 70,000 spectators attend the Honolulu Festival events in three days. Participants are able to share their culture, traditions and products withpeople from all over the world. This is an opportunity to perform your dances, the hula, ukulele, all that you have been practicing throughout the year. This is an opportunity to get up on stage in Hawaii and enjoy the thrill of performing for a huge audience.

You will also have the chance to meet other participants at the Friendship Gala which will be held on Saturday evening, March 13, 2010. This wonderful cultural exchange event will also feature the many popular chefs of local Hawaiian cuisine.

The sub theme for the 16th Annual Honolulu Festival is “Discovery through Traditions.” Your daily efforts will be showcased to the world and to future generations. By fusing the old and the new, extending beyond the past and the present, you will be able to encourage “Discovery through Traditions.”
