Typhoon Hagibis made landfall on Japan on Oct. 12, bringing record-breaking rainfall in wide areas and causing embankments to collapse leaving a trail of devastation across the country. Deaths occurred in 13 prefectures, and people remain missing. Clean-up still continues and will take months to recover and rebuild. Relief support will focus on the hardest hit areas of Nagano, Ibaragi and Fukushima. The Kizuna Group is a collection of various Japanese-American organizations in Hawaii joining together to aid Japan’s reconstruction efforts.
