This is our 5th time to join the Honolulu Festival and at the same time, we are welcoming our 15th anniversary. Surrounded by the great nature, blue ocean, beautiful flowers and melodious Hawaiian songs, we are very much in love with Hawaii. Especially Hula, it is the dance of our heart to us. We are feeling mana through Hula dancing.

Our halau is from Nara, the ancient capital of Japan. We will be participating for the 4th time this year with 75 of our members. We will perform in the Grand Parade down Kalakaua Avenue, receiving the many “mana,” feeling the Aloha spirit and the refreshing Hawaiian breeze with our entire body.

We are Pikake Hula Mates. We are ohana, enjoying hula and keeping the warm aloha spirit close to our hearts. 87 of us have come to perform Hawaii’s traditional hula with the assistance of Tokyo Nippo Tourist. We have practiced diligently so that we will achieve our goal. We will do our very best! Leader, Onishi Shizuko
