Samurai Maeda Toshiie ONDO MaiDance/Performance
Samurai Maeda Toshiie ONDO Mai is the naruko dance team consisting of men and women of all ages that love dance and festival. Its mission is to promote their city Arako, Nagoya Ward, which is a birthplace of Maeda Toshiie who served for Oda Nobunaga during the Sengoku Period and eventually became the lord of Kaga domain.
Yosakoi Team TokiwaDance/Performance
Our name is “TOKIWA”. We transmit the traditional Japanese culture of “WABI” and “SABI” through creative dance activities. We hope that, through our dance, we can share the beauty and charm of Japan with the people of the world.
Ocarina CuoreMusic Performance
Our group was formed in 1999 and is a music ensemble consisting only of ocarinas. We play six types of ocarinas of various sizes and perform classical, Hawaiian and Japanese songs. The ocarina, an earthenware flute, has a simple sound. Please enjoy the heartwarming harmony.
Nagoya Golden Age Male ChoirMusic Performance
Our male choir is from Nagoya in central Japan. Eleven of us with an average age of 75 will be performing at the Honolulu Festival this time. Our motto is “To share the joy of singing, to live a bright and positive life.” We continue to sing with these thoughts in mind.
Chikuzen Biwa Kyokujo-KaiMusic Performance
We are Chikuzen Biwa Kyokujo-kai, performing a form of traditional Japanese entertainment at the Honolulu Festival for the first time. We are from Nagoya in central Japan. We will be performing the song “Heike Monogatari” which is a perfect song representating the unique qualities of the Chikuzen biwa. Please hear our sounds and story. We will also play other traditional songs of Japan. Please sing along with us.

When we speak of Gotemba, we think of Mt. Fuji. Mt. Fuji is one of the most famous mountains in the world. Mt. Fuji, Japan’s tallest and most picturesque mountain, is also an eminent symbol of Gotemba. We are here from Gotemba to participate in the Honolulu Festival for the first time. We hope to show you a great performance, a result of our daily practices.
