JAPAN NANKIN TAMASUDARE ASSOCIATIONTraditional Performance
We perform both nationally and internationally in order to showcase Nankin Tamasudare, a traditional Japanese street performance, to people around the world. We hold the Guinness record of “the largest parade of people performing Nankin Tamasudare,” which we challenged in May 2013. We look forward to seeing all of you at the Honolulu Festival!
SONODA GAKUEN HIGH SCHOOLDance/Performance
We are the Sonoda Gakuen High School from Amagasaki, Hyogo, and this is our 14th time participaring in the Honolulu Festival. This year, about 300 sophomores perform the dance at the Grand Parade they have been practicing for a year. Please enjoy their cheerful and energetic dance!
Ritsumeikan University dig up treasureDance/Performance
We are the Double Dutch team, dig up treasure, of Ritsumeikan University. It is 10 time to join. We are going to show people of Hawaii amusement and fabulousness of Double Dutch. Everyone who know Double Dutch and do not know it.Please enjoy with us.
LOVEJUNX is an entertainment school for people with Down’s syndrome. Currently, more than 700 people are active in theater, television, movies, etc. mainly for singing and dancing. We aim to reduce prejudice and discrimination and to expand the possibilities for people with Down’s syndrome.
We are dancing Team “Pop’n Group” from Japan. This is the first time for us to join Honolulu Festival. We will enjoy it. We will do our best ,so please enjoy our dance!
Our group has only been together for only a year and a half. It is hard to believe that our dream of eventually dancing on stage in Hawaii is becoming a reality so soon. We are so happy. We are all young at heart and “love to dance hula and love to chat.”
Hālau Hula Hau’oliHula
Our halau, from Kyoto, consists of members between the ages of 3 to 80 years old, quite a wide range. Recently we have begun classes for parents and their children so that they may enjoy hula together. We make it a point to participate in one event in Hawaii each yar. Our group, taking lessons together, loves hula and loves Hawaii.
Ameku Kyodai Miyako Minyo KenkyujoMusic Performance
We are pupils of Okinawa’s Ameku Kyodai Miyako Minyo Kenkyujo. We practice in Yasu City in Shiga Prefecture under the leadership of Master Katsuyoshi Ameku. We perform in Yasu City as part of our community service as well as in competitions and events in Okinawa.
