Aloha!
We are Halau O Ka Manu Hula Le’a from Yokohama, Japan. Ka Manu Hula Le’s is Hawaiian for “happy dancing birds.”
This year is the 28th anniversary of the founding of our halau. Our Kumu Hula is the late Uncle Johnny Lum Ho, a renowned hula master from Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. We continue to learn hula, a Hawaiian cultural art, with respect and gratitude, cherishing the spirit of aloha.
We are excited to be participating in the Honolulu Festival for the first time. Our group of 60 members will dance with all our hearts. Please join us and enjoy our hula, filled with aloha.
