Participation years from 2006(12th)
Our group consists of people from all over Japan who enjoy making sandals with shredded material remnants. This was introduced by “Iki Iki” a lifestyle magazine for those in their 50’s. We are participating in the Honolulu Festival so that we can share this craft to people from all over the world. Our slipper workshop will be for beginners. We will also introduce a popular trend in Japan called “kimono remodeling,” creating small bags and other simple things from kimono material. Please come to our booth #18 at the Hawaii Convention Center if you enjoy making crafts out of kimono and enjoy collecting old kimono.
