We do not believe that karate is a sport or for competition. But quite earnestly, we continue to train daily for self discipline. True budo (martial art) does not question age or gender.

Nihon Karatedo Shotokai Burarian has a 70 year history and is the oldest karate school in Japan. Karatedo is not a sport. You are your own rival. As we meditate “Today you beat the you of yesterday,” regardless of our age or gender, we are encouraged in our daily training.
