Tamagusuku Ryu Senjukai Frances Nakachi Ryubu Dojo, under the direction of Frances Nakachi Sensei, was established 15 years ago in Hawaii. Frances Nakachi Sensei learned Okinawan dance under the acclaimed dance masters Yoshiko Tanita Sensei and Mieko Kinjo Sensei in Okinawa.
They are proud that their grand masters in Okinawa are certified as National Intangible Cultural Assets in Okinawan dance by the Japan government. As they take great pride in perpetuating their Okinawan culture in Hawaii, they strive to create a positive environment by helping the community through their dance projects. Senjukai Hawaii has a children’s class for 3 to 12 year-olds and adult classes for students up to 70 years old.
