Narration: Hitomi Kuroki

This documentary follows the determination of a young man and his friends who are affected by the disaster of the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. To overcome this disaster, they organize spectacular firework exhibitions to be displayed simultaneously at ten of the disaster areas. His firework presentations serve as a memorial service to mourn for those who passed away and to pray for a quick recovery.

Nakae Kai is a young man who is a talented violinist with a promising future. He lives in Chiba Prefecture’s Urayasu City with his parents, who both graduated from music college, and his high school aged sister. They used to play classical music together as a family but things changed, his parents got busy making a living to support the family and his older sister had an inferiority complex because she felt she wasn’t as good as her younger brother. The family was on the verge of collapse due to the father’s struggles at work. His company was constantly downsizing, affecting each member of the family to go their own ways. Kai wanted more than ever to return to those wonderful days when they would laugh and play together. With that in mind, Kai decides to form a family quartet.

Haru’s Journey

Former fisherman Tadao lives in Hokkaido. His wife had passed away and he lives with his granddaughter Haru. One day, Haru loses her job and considers going to Tokyo to find employment. She is conflicted because she cannot leave Tadao to live alone. Tadao has a walking disability. She decides to go on a journey to various places in Miyagi Prefecture to visit her estranged relatives in hopes of finding someone who will help take care of Tadao.
