“Kanto” (Lanterns borne by a bamboo pole) which is designed to look like rice ears, is about 12m high and weighs about 50kg. The appearance of the lantern swaying in the summer night sky creates a courageous and fantastic sight. It is held every year as a festival to wish for a good harvest.

“Kanto” (Lanterns borne by a bamboo pole) Festival Pole festival was started as a folk event to protect people from sickness and evil. Neburi-Nagashi Festival was the event to pray for the rich harvest and the success for arts and crafts, and together with the Tanabata festival, which was held on the next day, respectively, July 7, these festivals were welcome the following Obon festival, held on July 15 (the lunar calendar).

Along with the festival music, “Kanto” (Lanterns borne by a bamboo pole) with the weight of 50kg will be controlled by the thrilling acrobats freely with their forehead, shoulders and lower back.
