Oita
The Kusaji dance began in Bungotakada, Oita Prefecture around 300 years ago. It is composed by four types of dance. Also, the dancers quickly shift their costume accordingly to each dance which is one of its attractions.

Traditional Performance
We are from the city of Bungotakada in Oita Prefecture. We will be performing a simple yet lively folkdance that originated 280 years ago during the Edo Period. This dance is performed only by women. We start dancing gracefully in our Yukata (Female Dance), then all of a sudden move on to a more aggressive form of dance in our Happi coats. (Male Dance)
