Takasaki University of Health and Welfare Wadaiko MaiMusic Performance
The Wadaiko (Japanese drum) Group “MAI” is organized by the students of Takasaki University of Health and Welfare. We visit local events as well as daycare centers and nursing homes, where people across generations enjoy our wadaiko performance. We have also performed in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and interacted with people there.

We are Halau Hula O Kilinoe-a-Aloha from Yokohama. Every day, we are learning hula among our Ohana with a feeling of Aloha. We would like to share the best memory with all of you through our elegant and inspiring hula.
Our group was formed to excite the festival of Shūtō, Yamaguchi by the Lady’s Commercial and Industrial Association 8 years ago. All of our costumes are handmade and we have over 20 members. We are performing in various events and facilities including the temporary housing in Fukushima which brought smiles and cheers.

Kupuna Islanders is a Ukulele circle run by Hawaii Senior Life Enrichment Association. The group consists of local and also visitors from Japan. The instructor is Jody Kamisato who has been leading this senior group since 2008. The band members get together once a week in Waikiki and enjoy practicing Hawaiian songs & other ukulele tunes.
