Since 1980, “Talchum Research Group”, a student club in Jeju National University, has started to study and succeed to the Korean traditional dance. And we have joined various multi-cultural festivals to introduce Korean traditional dance to foreigners.

Mele Hula is led by Tina Hsueh who is the most distinguished Hula dancer in Taiwan. Tina is an innovative choreographer, who has transformed the traditional Hula and given it a new appearance. Her dancing style is a mixture of the best element of various artistic dances, both western and oriental and is uniquely her own. For the past 30 years, she has been performing and teaching Hula with distinction and has visited many countries to perform.She has often been invited to perform and won widespread acclaim.

Verona Yu-Lei, Tsai is a talented artist who overcame her illness through art. She was not able to read nor write her daily expressions in words. After having anxieties in both health and her future, she was only able to express herself through brushes with colors, which brought her to a field of artistic creativity. Her work includes graphic, three-dimension and series of contemporary interactive art projects (video link). Moreover, she explores the value of lives in forms of arts, and sharing the beauty of artistry through public service events. She also likes to sketch while traveling, in order to apprehend more cultural, landscape and exploring diversities of artistic expression.

The Flag Wavers from Faenza

The Group performs in the medieval uniform with the color of the five groups of flags-wavers of Faenza: WHITE, YELLOW, BLACK, RED and GREEN. The flag bearers and musicians of Faenza are among the most talented in Italy, in fact, has been adorned with over 30 title of ITALIAN CHAMPIONS of the ancient flag game. The Group SBANDIERATORI of FAENZA has performed in many foreign countries (SWISS, FRANCE, GERMANY, AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, GREECE, SLOVENIA, ESPANA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZELAND, TASMANIA, CHILE, FINLAND in LAPLAND at home of Santa Claus, EASTER ISLAND and U.S.A. in DALLAS and LOS ANGELES for the Hollywood Christmas Parade 2015).

We are the idol group “Pinkish” from Kazo-city, Saitama prefecture. We perform as “Hybrid nursery rhyme idol” with the fusion of modern pop music and nursery aiming to create our own original music. Traditional Performance

Four basic elements of Honolulu Daijayama are: making a float, fireworks, chants and dancers. Toward the 25th anniversary of Honolulu Daijayama, we are renovating Daijayama with our friends and volunteers in Honolulu. This year, we will carry Daijayama with brand-new fireworks and chants!

The Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the longest, continually-running ethnic festivals in Hawaii. The purpose of the festival is to perpetuation the Japanese culture and to enrich the lives of young women of Japanese ancestry. Queen Contestants are given the opportunity to learn about their Japanese heritage, improve their poise and public speaking and develop leadership skills through numerous cultural and training classes.
