This year, about 900 students from 16 schools attended the educational school tour. In addition, 20 groups let the students experience crafting and dancing.
he Ohana Award is presented by the Honolulu Festival to participating organizations recognition of their contribution to the Honolulu Festival for many years. On the evening of Friday, March 8th, the award ceremony for the Ohana Award was held at the Hawaii Convention Center and many people from Japan and the Asia-Pacific Rim participated the ceremony.
A variety of stage performances were held at various locations over the two days of March 9 (Sat) and 10 (Sun). This year, the International Marketplace have been added as one of venues in addition to the Hawaii Convention Center, Ala Moana Center, and Waikiki Beach Walk.
The Nagaoka Fireworks was held for the finale at the Honolulu Festival. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Honolulu Festival, fireworks were launched for 25 minutes which was longer than usual this year.
